Watsco, Inc., along with its subsidiaries, distributes air conditioning, heating, refrigeration equipment, and related parts and supplies in the United States. Its products primarily comprise residential central air conditioners; light commercial air conditioners; gas, electric, and oil furnaces; commercial air conditioning and heating equipment and systems; and other specialized equipment. The company also offers various parts, including replacement compressors, evaporator coils, motors, and other component parts; and supplies consisting of thermostats, insulation material, refrigerants, ductwork, grills, registers, sheet metal, tools, copper tubing, concrete pads, tape, adhesives, and other ancillary supplies. Watsco operates through approximately 380 locations in 32 states. It distributes its products to contractors and dealers who service the replacement and new construction markets.

But instead of one of my usual, meandering deals about life on the road in the NBA, I'm going to yap basketball for the umpteenth day in a row (sooner or later we're going to stray off topic, for real). So, I had a funny phone exchange after practice yesterday. "You and Dale Davis must be cousins after what you wrote [Monday]," the cat on the other end of the phone said to me, he was joking, of course. I had to laugh myself. No, we're not related. But Dale is one of my favorite dudes out there, active or not. And more importantly, he represents the type of player this Hawks team so desperately needs to complete what started over the weekend with the Mike Bibby trade. After watching these guys practice for the first time it became painfully obvious to me that Josh Smith, Al Horford, Zaza Pachulia and Solomon Jones comprise the entire frontcourt rotation the Hawks will use for the final 33 games of this season - starting with tonight's game against the Lakers - and possibly beyond.

We are entering the last weekend before Christmas and I am sure everyone is scrambling to get all of their last-minute shopping and holiday preparations ready. A shopper interviewed by a local TV news crew last week had some obvious but good advice that this is not a time to be stressed, but to enjoy. Easy to say. As adults, many of us have a number of stressful responsibilities on our shoulders at this time of year. One of if not the largest is the financial burden created by the customary holiday celebrations. The other stresses include the time and effort required to make sure the holidays are fun for everyone we care about. The magnitude of these stresses is readily observable as we see suicide rates rise dramatically this time of the year. The best advice I can give is to do the best you can and realize that your financial and personal health and sanity depend on not trying to do, expect or demand too much from the holidays.
